Its mission is to promote innovative research for the benefit of society. Dedicated to this purpose, CERTH combines its unique research facilities and high qualified personnel, to transform scientific knowledge into novel technological applications, aiming to respond to the needs of society at international level.
OUR ACTIVITIES IN THE CONSORTIUM
In STICS, CERTH will contribute to the Smartification of public infrastructure and buildings in municipalities and regions, by utilizing its developed in-house software tool “VERIFY”. This LCA/LCC/IP toolkit will perform environmental and cost-oriented analysis of investment concepts for buildings and districts, as well as support investment planning of various services, e.g., building retrofit, thus enhancing the sustainability of public infrastructure across the whole life cycle.
BENEFITS OF OOUR OUTPUTS AND TARGET GROUP
The outputs to be delivered include environmental and economic results of public buildings/infrastructure scenarios (new buildings, renovation concepts) at a life cycle perspective, as well as investment planning of predominant sustainable building solutions. These outputs mainly refer to the owners of the project cases assessed, however in a broader sense they refer to all municipalities and regions interested in building innovation and sustainability, as well as to academia.
