ABOUT
The Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region (BBSK) actively supports the development of innovation and the strengthening of the region’s innovation potential. Through strategic partnerships, building innovation infrastructure, and connecting the public, academic, and private sectors, BBSK creates an environment for new ideas, technologies, and business solutions to emerge.
The region focuses on talent development, entrepreneurial thinking, and idea incubation through its unique Welcome Hub concept. It promotes digitalization, green technologies, and the support, growth, and acceleration of startups through the activities of the Innovation Centre, while also actively fostering cooperation among all stakeholders.
Through these activities, coordinated by the BBSK Innovation Centre, the region increases its competitiveness. The goal is for Banská Bystrica Region to become a hub of modern solutions that bring sustainable development and a high quality of life to its residents. Innovation is the path to prosperity – and BBSK is actively shaping that path.
OUR ACTIVITIES IN THE CONSORTIUM
WP6 – SILAB – testing social innovations in a safe environment, testing and replicating solutions focused on talent development and startups, building expert capacities in the region, and knowledge transfer.
BENEFITS OF OOUR OUTPUTS AND TARGET GROUP
Utilization of the innovation hub – SILAB – for the development and testing of new solutions aimed at attracting, retaining, and developing talent, particularly within the Welcome Hubs. The creation and growth of startups and prototypes, and the validation of new business models with the support of customer-oriented digital solutions, using VR and AR; the creation of new datasets on the needs of talents and startups in the region; and the interconnection of data solutions. What Are Your Expectations from the STICS Project?
Development of social innovations and innovative solutions within SILAB, with applications in the Welcome Hubs (UMB, TUZVO) and the BBSK Innovation Center. New digital and non-digital innovative solutions, establishment of new collaborations and connections, and new innovative application and data solutions. The creation and growth of startups, community support, and the development of the business environment and companies. Reinforcing the importance of innovation development, incubation, and acceleration of startups and talents within the activities of the Welcome Hubs and the BBSK Innovation Center in the region.
For Whom and When Will Your Outputs Be Applicable?
For the general public, municipalities, and all relevant actors of the regional innovation ecosystem, after testing and validating prototype solutions in SILAB and the Welcome Hubs.
