Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing
The purpose of processing is to collect cookies from visitors to our website. The legal basis depends on the type of cookie:
Necessary cookies (technical/mandatory cookies) used to ensure security and proper functioning of the website. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(c) GDPR — compliance with legal obligations under Article 32 GDPR and Act No. 452/2001 Coll. on Electronic Communications.
Performance and statistical cookies (non-essential cookies) Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR — your consent to the processing of personal data.
Retention Period
Retention periods for individual cookies are listed in the table provided in the previous layer of this information notice.
Your consent to cookie processing (whether full consent or based on personalised cookie settings) is valid for 12 months, or until you change your cookie preferences or withdraw your consent — whichever occurs first.
Recipients
For technical cookies used on our website, the primary processors are UMB and our external website developer (our data processor).
For non-essential cookies, the primary processor is the third-party cookie provider. We use only anonymised statistical data provided to us for the domain www.umb.sk.
Third-party cookies are described in the table in the previous layer.
Facebook / Meta Platforms
Another recipient is Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”), a member of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited.
When you visit our official accounts on Facebook or Instagram, Facebook is the primary controller for cookies collected on these platforms.
We administer the UMB fan pages, but only with limited administrator privileges.
UMB and Facebook act as joint controllers under Article 26 GDPR.
Their Joint Controller Agreement is available at:

Information on how Facebook processes your personal data can be found in its Privacy Policy:
https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy
This document includes the legal basis for Facebook’s processing and instructions on how to exercise your rights.
In cases of cross-border cookie transfers made by the platform provider (e.g., Facebook, Google, Spotify AB), such providers may act as additional recipients and processors when we use their services.
Transfer of Data to Third Countries
UMB does not transfer personal data to third countries lacking adequate data protection, nor does it anticipate such transfers.
However, third-party social media providers (Facebook, Google, Spotify AB) may transfer data outside the EU.
The legal basis for such transfers would be Article 46(2)(c) GDPR — the use of Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission (in force since September 2021).
When selecting social media platforms for our official profiles, we choose providers committed to complying with EU data protection standards and modern privacy requirements, ensuring adequate safeguards and enforceable rights for data subjects.
We assume that users of websites and social media platforms are familiar with the rules governing their use.
